Old Town Tree Lighting
The annual Old Town Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, November 23rd, 2021 in Burton Place Park (the plaza to the north of Burton Place). The event will feature appearances from Alderman Brian Hopkins (2nd Ward), Alderman Walter Burnett, Jr. (27th Ward), State Representative Margaret Croke (IL-12th District), and Santa Claus!
Following the Tree Lighting Ceremony, continue the holiday festivities with Shop & Dine Late on Wells Street! Participants can get a head start on their holiday shopping from local Old Town retailers, and cap off the night with a meal at one of their favorite restaurants in the neighborhood.
Small Business Saturday & Passport Program
The OTMRA is proud to support local businesses through Small Business Saturday. As a part of the Small Business Saturday program, the OTMRA will have a passport program for Old Town shoppers: receive “stamps” for purchases at participating businesses, and submit your completed passport (4 or more stamps) for the chance to win a prize pack from the OTMRA! Completed passports should be emailed to OTMRA@oldtownchiago.org with the subject “Small Business Saturday 2021” by December 2nd, 2021.
Old Town Cash Back
Get rewarded when you shop locally during Old Town Cash Back! When you spend $75 shopping in Old Town (by visiting 3 or more businesses), send us your receipts to receive a $25 gift card in the mail as a thank you! Limit one gift card per person, limited quantities available. Receipts should be emailed to OTMRA@oldtownchicago.org; gift cards will be mailed out in early 2022.
Old Town Gives Back: Holiday Drive
We can’t forget about our local nonprofits during the holiday season! Help create some holiday magic by donating items from their respective wish lists: Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, Deborah’s Place, Youth for a Better Future, and Lincoln Park Community Services. While mailing donations is preferred, drop-off is welcome as well! Stop by Cook County Commissioner Bridget Degnen’s office at 4253 N Milwaukee Ave Monday – Friday from 9AM – 4PM, or the office of Representative Croke (3223 N Sheffield) during business hours to drop off your donation in person. Please specify which nonprofit your donation is intended for, and please avoid gift-wrapping your donations!
Old Town Lights Competition
Who has the best holiday decorations in the neighborhood? Email us your photos (OTMRA@oldtownchicago.org) or tag us on Instagram (@Oldtownchi) by December 16th! Prizes will be awarded to the top business and residential entry.
