The Old Town Neighborhood Foundation (OTNF) is a 501c3 non-profit that was created to help finance projects in the neighborhood that enhance the quality-of-life in Old Town. Presently, the OTNF is focused on community enhancement projects that will bring additional open space to Old Town. This includes a re-design of Burton Place Park and a new park on north Orleans Street.

Ongoing Projects

Burton Place Park

Burton Place Park is located in the heart of Old Town in Wells Street. Surrounded by historic homes, the park is an important open space for the neighborhood’s history. In 2018, the OTNF retained Jacobs/Ryan Architects (JRA) to design an update to the park that will enhance the space for the neighborhood. The re-design was supported by area residents at a community meeting in 2019. Thanks to the financial support of SSA 48 Old Town and State Senator Sara Feigenholtz, the OTNF has nearly 2/3rds of the $400,000 project financed.

Orleans Street Park

The Old Town Merchants and Residents Association (OTMRA) and The Old Town Neighborhood Foundation have engaged The Lakota Group to develop a design vision for a new community open space along N. Orleans St. north of W. Schiller St. OTMRA plays a vital role in enhancing the health, economic development, and sustainability of the community. In this process, the association aims to create an exciting vision for this long-underutilized space.
