This week’s Member Spotlight is Lighthouse ArtSpace, current home of the Immersive Van Gogh exhibit.

Lighthouse ArtSpace will be the home to immersive visual art experiences in Chicago as well as a venue for private events. Lighthouse ArtSpace Chicago is operated by Immersive Art Space LP, a partnership between co-producers Corey Ross, Svetlana Dvoretsky, Maria Shclover, and Irina Shabshis. The venue also will feature a merchandise gift shop and café. Future plans include additional immersive art shows as well as live performances.

Unlike the traditional experience of visiting an art museum and viewing the art, the exhibitions that will come to Lighthouse ArtSpace are built to allow guests to step inside of the art itself. The exhibition happens all around you, taking up every floor, wall and ceiling of the venue.

Immersive Van Gogh was designed by creative director and Italian film producer Massimiliano Siccardi, with original, mood-setting music by Italian multimedia composer Luca Longobardi, who provided a score that combines experimental electronic music with pure, ethereal and simple-seeming piano. Vittorio Guidotti is the Art Director. Siccardi and Longobardi are both pioneers of immersive digital art experiences and veterans of the Atelier des Lumières in Paris, where they created the world-renowned Van Gogh, Starry Night exhibition, among others. With more than 50 projectors illuminating over 14,000 square-feet, visitors to Immersive Van Gogh will be encircled from head-to-toe in Van Gogh’s brushstrokes and colors, including animated details from works such as Self Portrait with Felt Hat (1888), The Bedroom in Arles (1889), Irises (1889) and The Starry Night (1889).

After the tremendous success of Immersive Van Gogh in Toronto, the producers sought the ideal U.S. home. Given Chicago’s tremendous presence as a leader in Arts & Culture, it felt like the perfect match to make the City the U.S. Premiere location and a long-term home for immersive art experiences.

Lighthouse ArtSpace is thrilled to be a part of the neighborhood and to be customizing this exhibition for the historic Germania Club Building. Located in the heart of the neighborhood and near other cultural institutions, we believe this space unites the unique beautiful architecture that Chicago is so well-known for with the magnificent artwork of some of the greatest artists of our time.

Tickets are on sale now and holiday gift cards are also available for purchase.
