This week’s Member Spotlight is Claridge House: a pet-friendly, boutique intimate hotel adjacent to Old Town in the heart of Chicago’s historic Gold Coast neighborhood. With an on-site spa, gym, event space, and various room types, Claridge House is the ideal hotel for family trips, business trips, and staycations alike. The ownership team deliberately chose their proximity to Old Town because of the vibrant streets, welcoming atmosphere, and rich history of the neighborhood. The Claridge House building has been standing since the early 1900s and has undergone many changes. It’s most recent change was its transformative $9 million renovation in 2018; prior to that, it was the Indigo hotel for many years. The goal behind the change and renovation was to have a hotel that better fit the look and feel of the neighborhood. The architecture firm hired for the renovation made sure to do just that, and our wonderful staff makes sure that the hotel feels welcoming and your stay memorable.
Our pride and joy is our staff; it’s what makes us unique and we are very fortunate to have just a great team. The spa team alone has been operating at the hotel for over 20 years and have so many stories to share about the building and neighborhood. Our Front Desk and Executive team collectively bring over 50 years of hospitality experience! Being a stand-alone property and not part of a major hotel chain gives us the freedom to really cater to the needs of our guests and provide a personal experience. With a small team, we work closely together to provide great experiences to all our guests. Claridge House is very much our home and we want to share it with you.

-Neighborhood Rate (available to all Old Town residents and businesses) 15% off our standard rate with a late 2:00PM check-out and waved nightly amenity fee
-Wedding Blocks – In addition to a discounted preferred rate, our current promo includes comp room upgrades, comp bloody mary or mimosa cart on the morning of the wedding, waived amenity fee for guests, and a complimentary 1 night stay for the wedding couple on their 1 year anniversary.
-Event Space – We have two great spaces at discounted room rentals with no food and beverage minimums, and happy to work with outside caterers of your choosing.
-Business Travel – We are happy to offer discounted rates with additional perks for all business travelers. Great for any clients or colleagues you have flying into Chicago.

Are we pet-friendly? – Yes we are
What is the cost per pet? – No additional charge for pets
Do you accept cash? No, we only accept debit/credit cards
Do you have parking? – The hotel does not have its own parking lot, but there is a public lot right next door. Spot Hero is also a helpful app for guests
Do you offer room service? – Room service is temporarily not available, but we are working with a 3rd party company that provides that service for us.
Is the restaurant open? – In the interest of public safety, the hotel has closed the on-site restaurant, Juniper, for the time being. We plan to reopen in the spring of next year.
