Art enthusiasts are guaranteed to find plenty of inspiration at the Wells Street Art Festival, now in it’s 45th year. Held on the popular Wells Street strip between North Avenue and Division in Chicago’s historic Old Town neighborhood, it’s a treasure trove of creativity and much more.
What to Expect
Artist Booths — Over 200 juried artists from across the nation will descend upon Wells Street to showcase their respective crafts. From traditional painting to sculpturing, artisan woodworking to metalsmithing, jewelry to the digital arts, and much more, there is something for everyone.
Food and Drink — The festival features a wide range of food and drink vendors selling an assortment of delicious items. A lot of your Old Town favorites will be out on the street, so be sure to try them all! See below for the participating Old Town restaurants. Be sure to try them all!

Entertainment — The Wells Street Art Festival has a dedicated performance stage located in the O’Brien’s parking lot. Local and national touring performance artists and bands will be performing all weekend long. See below for the stage schedule.

Children’s Play Area — Art on Sedgwick and the Onni Group will once again be providing programming for children. Stop by to decorate a t-shirt and do other art projects in the children’s play area at the corner of Wells and Evergreen.

Volunteer at the Wells Street Art Festival
Sign up to volunteer at the Old Town Merchants and Residents Association booth at the Wells Street Art Festival. Volunteers will be asked to do a 2 hour shift at the booth and every volunteer will receive a food voucher from a local Old Town restaurant for each day they volunteer.
