Chicago’s historic Old Town neighborhood welcomes in the fall with the return of its Live Well health and wellness showcase Monday, October 3rd through Saturday, October 8th.
To highlight the diverse and abundant wellness establishments in Old Town, the Old Town Merchants and Residents Association (OTMRA) has coordinated special discounts, free classes, complimentary exams, unique programming and more with its participating member businesses.

This year’s participants (listed below) represent all your wellness needs — internal medicine, physical exercise, vision, dental, and stress reduction. We encourage everyone to use this great event as a jumping off point for a healthier, more active lifestyle.
“Over the past few years, we’ve welcomed lots of great health/wellness-focused businesses into the neighborhood,” said OTMRA Board President Giulia Sindler. “The Old Town Live Well showcase gives us the opportunity to put a spotlight on them and let everyone experience other great Old Town businesses besides the restaurants, bars and shops we’re best known for.”
Among this year’s neighborhood-wide events is a fun and active Old Town Scavenger Hunt (checklist here), coordinated by Fleet Feet Sports, and an Outdoor Pilates Class at Burton Place Park (1501 N. Wells) on Saturday, October 8th, from 9-9:50am, led by Center On North. To participate in the free, morning pilates class, email centeredonnorth@gmail.com by 10/05. Participants should bring their own yoga/fitness mat.
The event culminates in Sunday’s Chicago Marathon, which passes right through the hear of Old Town — from Sedgwick, east on North Avenue, then south on Wells Street. A full list of Live Well promotions, specials and events (as of 09/07/16) includes:
